Since 1999, Empower "U", Inc. has provided care and prevention services to people living with or risk  for HIV/AIDS. Our services include:

 

CLIENT CARE SERVICES

 

Coordinated Case Management

The primary goal of Empower "U", Inc. HIV/AIDS coordinated case management component is to connect clients to medical care as early as possible to slow the progression of HIV disease. Through client centered coordinated case management, eligible clients have access to a wide variety of social support services needed to improve their quality of life. 

Peer Support Service

 

Coordinated Case Management also includes peer support service. HIV positive individuals assist others navigate through the system.

 

Targeted Outreach

Empower "U", Inc. targeted outreach interventions is designed to identify and connect to care those who are HIV+ but do not know their status and those who are aware of their HIV status and are not receiving medical care. The goal is to connect them to case management and medical care as early as possible to reduce HIV disparities in health care.

Free Confidential HIV Testing

 

Empower "U", Inc. is a certified State of Florida confidential HIV test site and provides rapid testing and counseling with results in as little as 20 minutes. For more information click here.

 

Housing

 

Empower "U", Inc. provides long-term housing rental assistance and support services for low-income PWAs living with HIV/AIDS and their families.

 

ADVANCING HIV PREVENTION INITIATIVES

 

CRCS (Comprehensive Risk Counseling and Services)

 

CRCS  is a client-centered HIV prevention activity with the fundamental goal of promoting the adoption and maintenance of HIV risk-reduction behaviors by clients with multiple complex problems and risk reduction needs. 

 

Mpowerment

 

This community-level intervention for young men who have sex with men uses a combination of informal and formal outreach, discussion groups, creation of safe spaces, social opportunities, and social marketing to reach a broad range of young gay men with HIV prevention, safer sex, and risk reduction messages.

 

Willow (Women Involved in Life Learning from Other Women)

 

The WILLOW intervention is a social-skills building and educational intervention for adult women living with HIV. An adaptation of the SISTA intervention, WILLOW emphasizes gender pride, informs women how to identify and maintain supportive social networks, teaches coping strategies to reduce life stressors, enhances awareness of STD transmission and HIV reinfection risk behaviors, teaches communication skills for negotiating safe sex, reinforces proper and consistent condom use, distinguishes between healthy and unhealthy relationships, and defines types of abusive relationships and their effect on a woman's ability to negotiate safer sex practices.
